The hard part is in recognizing that the traditional electronic health record products are not the only choices available in today’s market. It takes foresight, commitment , and a fierce loyalty to one’s practice and patients, to look beyond the limited scope of digital documentation and integrate instead an electronic health record that also engages patients with a patient health portal, and to introduce to their patients a higher level of convenience, access and engagement that is worth paying for. The commitment is not measured in dollars and cents but in following the true north of their clinical and personal compass.
